The Play Garden Preschool

Philosophy

I firmly believe in the wonder of play which fosters imagination and creativity. It is through play that children learn from active exploration in a structured indoor and outdoor learning environment. However, I also respect the shifting culture of California's education system, where children need to exhibit an increased readiness to enter kindergarten. Consequently, our program has evolved into a "bridge", where play is honored while the children also receive lessons in skill building along with learning letters and numbers. Thus they find both enjoyment and success in our "bridge" program.

Children in our program will be respected for who they are; acceptance, attention and validation are given regardless of their emotions or behavior. My goal is to help children develop positive self-esteem, as well as feel safe, secure and nurtured.
